Read Together
Every Know Where You Are book is made to be shared. Read the pages aloud, or press play and let the narration and sound effects carry the story while you follow along together. Know Where You Are is for kids from age zero to 110 and beyond, so grown-ups are invited to learn right alongside their young readers.
A few ideas for story time:
- Let your child turn the pages and set the pace
- Pause on a page and ask what they see in the pictures
- Pick a favorite character and follow them through the story
- Notice the words that pop up again and again, like brain, energy, and time
- Read it again tomorrow because kids catch something new every time

Discussion Prompts
Keep the conversation going after the last page.
The best part of a Know Where You Are story often comes after the book closes. These questions help your family talk about what you read, and they can all be answered with real facts. If you don’t know an answer, look it up together. Finding out is half the fun.

Before you read
- Look at the cover. What do you think this story will be about?
- Which characters do you see? What do you already know about them?
While you read
- What did the character notice?
- What question would you ask them right now?
- What do you think will happen next?
After you read
- What was the most surprising fact in the story?
- Which character would you most like to have as a friend, and why?
- What new word did you learn? Can you use it in a sentence?
Big questions to explore together
- Where are we? How far away is the Sun, and why does that distance matter for life on Earth?
- What are we? What does your human brain do for you every single day?
- How are you using your Brain, Energy, and Time — your B.E.T.?
- What is one thing you wonder about that you could find out together?
Want even more? Each educator guide includes discussion questions written for every book in the series. It comes free with every 3-book set in the Bookstore.
